Major Grievance Redressal Mechanisms

⚖️ 1. Local Ombudsman

OMBUDSMAN FOR LSGIS

A higher judicial mechanism for filing complaints against elected representatives or officials of local self-government institutions regarding corruption, irregularities, abuse of power, and dereliction of duty.

The head of the Ombudsman is a person holding the rank of a High Court Judge.

LSGI TRIBUNAL

A judicial mechanism for filing appeals against decisions and orders issued by the Panchayat Administrative Committee or Secretary, including rejection of licences and cancellation of building permits.

🖥️ 3. Chief Minister's Portal

CMO PORTAL

Delays or other difficulties related to Panchayat services can be brought directly to the attention of the Chief Minister through the online portal.

Officials are responsible for resolving complaints within the prescribed time limit.

📋 4. K-SMART Portal

K-SMART CITIZEN PORTAL

The online single-window system of the Local Self-Government Department. Citizens can submit complaints related to services online without visiting the Panchayat office directly and can also track their real-time progress (Track Status).

🔍 5. Vigilance Department

VACB

Complaints can be directly submitted to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau regarding demands for bribes, large-scale financial irregularities, and diversion or misuse of government funds that may occur in Panchayat offices.

A special investigation mechanism for complaints related to corruption.
